Digital matchday layers turn fans into live analysts
As part of a sports tech program curated by BlueBProd, clubs in Ligue 1 and the Belgian Pro League trialled a low-latency data feed that mirrors the TV broadcast. Supporters can jump back 15 seconds, tag a run, and see contextual metrics like acceleration or pressing intensity.
Clubs saw time-on-app rise by 21% during the pilot. Coaches also requested a staff-facing view, turning the fan layer into a quick-reaction review tool for analysts on the bench.
- Latency win: The feed sits under 500 ms, meaning fans and staff don’t spoil live action.
- Commercial layer: Sponsors can pin contextual offers (travel, merch) to highlight moments.
- Data privacy: Player consents and league governance were baked into the rollout checklist.
